Super Baby

Hunter is turning into Super Baby! He has begun to stand unsupported and is trying to do sign language. Monday night at dinner I was apparently feeding him something unappetizing, so he started giving me the all done sign, by raising one hand over his head and waving his hand (the other hand was in his mouth). I said, "Are you trying to tell me you are all done? 'Cuz you're not, Mister!" To be sure I got the message, he took the other hand out of his mouth and raised BOTH hands over his head and gave them a good shake! What a stinker! In order to get him to finish the jar, I busted out the bananas. Bananas ALWAYS motivate him to finish any unfavorable flavor of mush. I reminded him of the sign for more (as in more gross mush, please) and he was on such a roll he started do that one too. When I gave him a spoonful of bananas he wanted more, but when I snuck in a spoonful of the other crap he was all done. I never suspected arguing from a 7 month old.

Did you miss me?

me w/out makeup and my sweet baby, Hunter.
So it's been a while since I posted. I have: 1. not felt "inspired" 2. been busy 3. have been slightly disenchanted. I'm trying to get over all that.
The kids have been doing great! Hunter is so active. He is standing with assistance and cruising around the furniture. An unfortunate side effect is that I hear an awful lot of crying! He falls. He cries. He crawls to cat food. Shoves some in his mouth. I take it away and fish it out of his cheeks. He cries. He crawls to Logan's toys. Grabs one. Logan takes it from his iron grasp by pushing him to the floor. He cries. My happy baby is crying all the time. Well, he cries, he stops and goes onto the next thing. Some of those things include, dumping an entire cup of water from the top of the end tables onto the floor, eating cat food again, opening the dvd player and trying to open the basement door. Good times.

Hunter hanging out.

Logan is Logan. He has his ups and they are really great. His downs leave something to be desired. The tantrums, the nagging and, boy oh boy, the potty training. I blame it on his lack of sleep, too much sugar and too much tv. All that will change when we move. I swear.

Finally! A actual start date!

Matt will be starting his new job with the MO Air National Guard on Feb 1, 2009. We are hoping to go out there as a family, but it will really depends on what happens with this house. It has been on the market for about a month and we have had about 4-5 showings. We may have had an offer, but our neighbors decided to inform the buyer that our house gets hits by golf balls "all the time." Though our house has been hit by golf balls, it's not an every day occurrence. It's rather annoying, but I want the buyer to be aware of the golf ball potential. I know the right buyer will come along. I just hope it's soon! I am going to bury my St Joseph statue now. http://www.fisheaters.com/stjoestatue.html

Beautiful Pickle

Logan is such a goof! I purchased a cucumber for our salad and before I was able to put it away, Logan ran over to me with it saying, "Mom! Mom! Look at this beautiful pickle! I love this pickle!"

Sweet Butter!

Logan truly loves his little Hunter. Sometimes, when Hunter cries for absolutely no reason, Logan can calm him by singing, none, other than Twinkle, Twinkle! He will sing to him so sweetly and Hunter will calm down and listen quite intently. Sometimes, when again, he cries for a reason unknown to be, Logan will tell me in a serious tone, "Get him, get him, Momma! Baby butter crying!" As if I didn't know....

Busy, busy

We have had a busy week! Tuesday "we" elected a new president on Tuesday. Rock-O-Mamma, as Logan calls him, was the winner. I know Logan was excited! Logan is very aware of Obama, as we have viewed MANY commercials over the past few months.

Wednesday morning we headed to Virginia Beach to visit Darlene and her kiddos. We had such a great time! Darlene is a generous hostess and took care of us. Logan and Noelle were like two peas in a pod and only had a few scuffles over toys. Darlene has informed me that in the time we were there, Noelle went from no interest in the potty, to full fledged (almost) potty trained! Go Noelle! Logan has been working on it for 8 months! Go figure!

Hunter started crawling! He started November 1st, and has been all over since. Today he pulled himself into the standing position! I am not ready for that! Logan didn't officially crawl until he was 10 months old! Hunter is so full of surprises! I just love these guys!

Trick-or-treat, smell my feet....

Halloween has finally arrived! After weeks (I'm not kidding) of parties, library events and multiple trick-or-treating the day is finally here! The day started with a party at 10 am hosted by Amy and Lukas. She did such a great job! She has pumpkin painting and a hand/foot print craft. Logan had a great time, but did get into more than one scuffle with Lukas. Since the party was at his house, I think he was feeling territorial. Every time Logan picked up a toy, Lukas wanted it. It was actually pretty typical for those two and they always work it out.

We had a great time trick-or-treating. We went to a neighborhood close by and very kid friendly. Logan continued to be Batman and really got into being a super hero. Almost every driveway was gravel and lined with a piece of timber (like a rail road tie). Logan insisted that he walk the "balance beam" up the driveway and do a "Super" jump down each home's steps

Mister Hanky and Candy, candy, candy

The last few days have been busy around here. Monday was the evening Halloween Story time at the Community Center. It was the usual sit around and listen to the fruity, nasal-voiced guy and the snaggle-toothed, frumpy librarian read the kids stories and sing a few kiddie songs. They promised the kiddo's trick-or-treating, which involved walking down a hallway, in the dark, to one person in an office and another in the library. Good thing 2 year-olds are easily satisfied!

Lily, Hunter and Logan. I mean Belle, Skeleton Baby and Batman.

Tuesday we had a Brokers Open House, so we vacated our pad for a few hours. Our agent had over 15 agents through. Now bring your buyers!!!!

Christmas has come early and Logan was visited by Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo last night. Logan locked me out of the bath room and while I was looking for something to open the door with, Mr. Hanky paid a visit! Gross to the max! Nothing a bath and Simple Green couldn't clean up. I think Logan learned his lesson about locked doors and whatnot.

We had a showing tonight and hopefully more this weekend. I know it only takes one buyer, but I would like to see more come through.

Food waste. I hate that.

So we waste too much food around here! I hate the idea of doing that. Today I am throwing out a whole pan of pot roast with veggies, half a pack ham and probably some pasta. I am most upset about the roast and ham. I left the roast out all night, because I was waiting for the pan to cool off before I put it away and never got to it. I opened the ham last week and totally forgot about it. Not totally, I remembered a few times as I was drying to drift off to sleep, but never thought about it the next day. What a waste! Boo-hoo

Bowles Farm Pumpkin Patch

Since our house is on the market, we have been trying desperately to keep it clean and tidy. Today, being Sunday, seems like a prime day for house hunters, so we cleaned up this morning and headed out to the Pumpkin Patch at Bowles Farm. What a neat place! Logan went on a barrel ride (basically a plastic barrel with a seat cut into it, wheels added and pulled by a clown driving a John Deere Tractor), played in the corn box (like a sand box except filled with feed corn) and explored the giant corn maze. We had a good time! There was even Bluegrass for Momma!

The weather was perfect at almost 70 degrees and we took the back roads home, so I could try and get some old tobacco barn pictures. Not too great, but I'll post them anyway.

We have a pretty small group of friends here in Southern Maryland and I swear I saw half of them at the pumpkin patch! I saw Kim and Jordan, Becky and Peyton and later, Tammy and Ed with Autumn and Savanna. It was fun to randomly run into such good friends.

Hunter is getting closer and closer to crawling everyday! Here he is in action.

Bat Baby, Bat Boy and Bat Man

In the end, no one came to see the house this weekend, but we had some great family time.

Yes, I've created a blog.

I have been so inspired by reading some great blogs that I have decided to start my own. I loathe writing in general, but have decided to challenge myself and give this outlet a try. I will blog about my family, life, frugal aspirations, finances and maybe a little comedy. Stay tuned and see what happens!
